I Used To Lead Him But Now He’ll Be Leading MePosted: April 28, 2012

Several years ago, I was leading Terrence Jones (above, right) in campus ministry when we worked together on staff with a college ministry. Two years later he left for seminary while I continued to serve on campus. I had led the ministry for six years before he came on board. I looked up to him in so many ways even then though he was 6 years younger than me. Now he’s 29 (I’m 35) and will serve as our Lead Pastor of Strong Tower at Washington Park. I’m serving as the Associate Pastor. Someone asked me, “Will it be a problem for you to serve under someone you helped lead in ministry and younger than you?” “Not at all,” I responded. When you know your role you’re suppose to fulfill on the team, there’s no jealousy,” I said sincerely. I’m so excited to serve with my brother in Christ here at Strong Tower at Washington Park.
