I Hear Him Talking To Me…

There are many who say they’ve heard from God. And unfortunately, many who have made that bold statement modeled things that didn’t reflect “God speaking” to them.

But God has spoken to me today (though I don’t model everything I should either)! Let me tell you what He said to me.

Are you ready? Here goes.

“No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier”- II Timothy 2:4

“Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood”- Acts 20:28

“…we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word”- Acts 6:4

It makes me nervous to write this encounter out because those who read it add an extra accountability (in my mind) to follow through with being a shepherd soldier who doesn’t get entangled with everyday life. Instead of getting entangled with normal life, He wants me to be devoted to prayer and the ministry of the word. He also wants me to be on guard for myself and the flock of God (Strong Tower At Washington Park). Another reason this makes me nervous is because I have a tendency to sometimes say good things but not follow through. Why can’t I be that dude who knows what to do and does it without saying anything about what God said to me? I want to be that dude!

Oh yeah, the God of Heaven and Earth is talking to me loud and clear. I want to obey!
